Color Modes

Why do my colors look different on my monitor than they do when I print the file?

The best way to see the color differences between the CMYK and RGB color spaces is to distinguish them for yourself in the color gamut comparison chart. The color chart shows the visible color spectrum; within this is a plot of the CMYK, RGB, and Pantone colors. As you can tell, not all colors can be duplicated with CMYK, RGB, or Pantone colors that we see with our eyes.
Print colors (CMYK) cannot cover the same range of the visible spectrum that the RGB color space can describe. For this reason, color is different on your monitor from the same file printed.
